For Group Leaders: How To Conduct A Fatherhood Fellowship

  1. We suggest weekly meetings of about 90 minutes in total – at the same time and place each week. Possible places could in someone’s living room or a quiet coffee shop.
  2. The optimal number of men is 6 to 12 as this a ideal group that everyone will have a chance to share but then the final number is up to you.
  3. Each man should commit to doing his best to attend each of the six meetings and to keep everything said in a group strictly confidential.
  4. The first meeting is critical – and everyone should have a chance to introduce himself.
  5. Prayer is essential in every meeting. Make sure that at least someone prays for each meeting at the outset, asking our Heavenly Father for his deep and rich blessings.
  6. Plan to spend 15 minutes at the start catching up and learning from each other.
  7. Then spend the next 60 minutes talking over the questions for the week – making sure that everyone has a chance to share. Listen carefully to your fellow fathers for we can all learn from each other.
  8. At the end we suggest that you take another 15 minutes to pray for each other’s concerns. As the Good Book says, “the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16).

There are three Fatherhood Fellowship studies – each is six weeks long and all use the award-winning national best seller Be A Better Dad Today as the text.
