WEEK 1: The Importance of Fatherhood, part I
July 14, 2016

Fatherhood Fellowship Six-Week Series #1
Fatherhood: The Journey Of A Lifetime
Part I
  1. Fatherhood is the most job any man will ever have (pp. 25-27). Do you agree with this assessment or do you think it overstates the issue. Explain your view.
  2. Describe your own father and one memory of a significant time you had with him.
  3. Consider Proverbs 22:6 – “Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
What is “the way” that you want your children to go? What do you hope your children to be as adults?
  4. How did your parents train you as a child?
  5. How are you training your children? How would your children answer this question?
  6. What can you do to train your children “in the way they should go?”
Optional Additional Questions For Week 1:
  1. Are you still walking in the way your parents trained you? How?
  2. Do you agree with “the way” in which you were trained? If not, what different way would you choose (or have chosen) for your own family?
  3. In what way does your parenting reflect the way you were parented?
  4. What do you consider to be your greatest responsibility as a father?
