Do not fret because of evildoers, or be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
Envy is defined as a feeling of discontent and resentment aroused by and in conjunction with desire for the possessions or qualities of another. Main causes of Envy are:
- Comparison to others
- Lack of self-worth
- Desire for worldly things
Prayer for the day:
Lord, your Word in Proverbs 14:30 says "A sound heart is the life of the flesh; but envy, the rottenness of the bones." I know it is not your will for me to be envious, jealous and covetous of other people, their possessions and their positions. Thank you for your Word that godliness with contentment is great gain. I am very thankful for all the blessings you bestow upon me and my family. Thank you for your love and goodness and your abiding presence that lead me to fruitfulness. As your offspring, I am abundantly blessed, deeply loved and highly honoured. I am set free from feeling discontent and resentment in Jesus' name, Amen.
