Pressure To Pleasure
Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil, and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the Lord of hosts.
"God wants us to be wise with the money that He entrusted to us. We are also encouraged to be good stewards of what God has given us. We are to save money, but not hoard it. We are to spend money, but with discretion and control. We are to give back to the Lord, joyfully and sacrificially. We are to use our money to help others, but with discernment and the guidance of God’s Spirit. It is not wrong to be rich, but it is wrong to love money. It is not wrong to be poor, but it is wrong to waste money on trivial things."
Prayer for the day:
Lord, you are greater that I can possibly imagine and greatly to be praised. You own the cattle on a thousand hills. I know you desire to bless me more than I can realise, but I also know the key to that blessing is to be found in obedience to the teachings of your Word. Help me to obey you in the area of my finances so that I might become a good steward over all you have given to me. I believe that as I choose to believe your Word in Malachi 3:10-11, you will prevent the enemy from devouring my finances and I will be called blessed by those who see your goodness to me. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
