Pain To Gain

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9

One of the unfortunate byproducts of living in a sinful, fallen world is that every person, Christian or not, experiences pain and suffering and disappointment in this life. From failed relationships to unfulfilled dreams, life can be filled with sorrow and disappointment. No one is immune. The truth is, our trials and disappointments, though we may not like them, do serve a purpose. It is through trials that we learn patience and humility, endurance and trust - virtues that strengthen us and develop godly character. -James Dennison

Prayer for the day:

Lord, thank you for transforming me into a wonderful, new creation of your handiwork. I am blessed to be a child of God who is never alone in my trials. I know you will give me the strength and grace I need to endure any circumstance and to overcome any disappointment. Help me to forgive those that have hurt and disappointed me so deeply. Keep me from all bitterness, Lord. Heal all the pain in my heart, change my sorrow into joy and transform my disappointments into blessings from you. I pray and bless you in Jesus' name.
